What's this

Weeeell, this is my very first attempt at digital painting.
I got a Wacom tablet (Graphire 4) a few days ago and I'm experimenting with it now.

I know that this thingie here is far from perfect, but on the other hand, I never really got friends with the non-digital brushes and colours and whenever I pulled myself together again and tried to paint something, I got frustrated quite quickly.
So I'm not trained at all when it comes to painting.
It's amazing how many colours there are in a face! Phew. Hehe

Anyway, this was made in the GIMP. It's not the greatest program for digital painting I guess, but it's okay. And it's open-source.
I used an old photo of myself as a reference for lighting and colours. Which doesn't make this a self-portrait, though!
